Kite Innovation was formed in 2006 to provide strategy, innovation and commercialisation services to businesses and academia. Our vision is to be the leading provider of European Framework Seven and commercialisation services in our chosen markets. The EU Framework Programme is the largest source of R&D Funding in Europe, worth €56bn over 6 years. Geographically the business is located in Scotland, Yorkshire and Northern Ireland to serve research-intensive Universities and innovative, research and technology based businesses seeking collaborative relationships. We work in partnership with other firms in support of a number of framework contracts:

• Strategem Ireland Limited - to deliver projects arising from the Business Direction component of Invest Northern Ireland's Business Services activities.
• Bluemoon Consultants Limited - to deliver projects arising from Scottish Enterprise's Global Companies Development Programme.

We are UK Business Partner for PlanBase Inc., a Delaware corporation, which offers a suite of web-based strategic planning and implementation management software and services. These are marketed to UK businesses by Kite Innovation Limited.

In FP7, we are actively promoting the programme to businesses directly and utilising the available funding support to facilitate their involvement.

As an intermediary operating in the market space between business and academia, we interact with many R&D based businesses as well Universities and Research Institutes. The different types of scenario include;

• Assisting businesses to develop a strategy for engagement in the EU Framework Programme, evaluating the alignment of their concept to the objectives of FP7, helping to identify suitable instruments and calls, building consortia and the overall coordination of the bid development process.
• Assisting Universities to find commercial and industrial partners to strengthen the implementation and exploitation strategies within proposals.

The projects we undertake call upon a broad understanding and ability to evaluate the potential industrial, commercial, and economic benefits of a broad range of R&D technologies in key sectors such as Health, ICT, Energy, Nanotechnologies, Environmental Science, Security and Transport.

We are experienced in the process of strategy development as well as technology evaluation, allowing us to assist businesses to shape their technology road-mapping to enhance the long-term impact and commercial viability of new products and services in which they have invested.
