£8m for New Lasers The University of Dundee is leading a team of 18 European partners that have been granted 10.1m EUR (approx £8m) to develop a new generation of biomedical lasers. The new lasers will be much smaller and more efficient than current lasers and will be designed for use in microscopy and nanosurgery where higher precision imaging, cutting and treament therapies will be possible. Kite Innovation worked closely with the University and its partners to develop the proposal strategy and submission.
Wendy Phillips has joined Kite Innovation in its Dundee office as Research Projects Manager. Wendy previously worked for Hewlett Packard and subsequently Agilent for over 20 years at their South Queensferry base, near Edinburgh. She brings a tremendous amount of experience in managing R&D projects which will be invaluable to the business, particularly in terms of the European Framework Programme (FP7). We look forward to supporting Wendy as she helps grow our business in Dundee.
PlanBase Software. Kite Innovation is pleased to announce that it has concluded a deal with PlanBase Inc, of Delaware USA, to be UK Business Partner for the PlanBase suite of web based strategic planning and implementation software. Kite will market PlanBase, initially through existing contracts in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Yorkshire. The PlanBase product suite integrates easily with the Single Page Planning approach that Kite's Derek McKenzie has pioneered and successfully used to help many companies over the last 15 years.
Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) North East. Kite Innovation will be presenting at the launch of the EEN North East on the 4th June in Gateshead.
